Cadets from Alnwick and Broomhill Detachments spent this weekend helping with the annual Druridge Bay 10k Charity Run.
The run, set in the picturesque surroundings of Druridge Bay Country Park, was in support of the Grace House North East Children's Hospice. The charity slant was evident by some of the bizarre outfits the runners were wearing.
The weekend is also the ideal opportunity for the cadets to explore the beach, socialise and enjoy a barbecue bite to eat. The park warden agreed to the cadets camping in the park so they could get an early start in the Sunday morning.
The cadets assisted with the setting up, marshalling and packing away of the event. Northumbria ACF's world famous climbing wall was also available for any members of the public brave enough to have a shot.
A special mention also goes to Lt Barry Lister, Detachment Commander of Rothbury Detachment, who managed to complete the course in just under an hour.
Cadets from Alnwick Detachment were recently called upon to assist in a rather unusual world record attempt.
Members of the North Northumberland Dog Training Club assembled at Alnwick Rugby Club intent on making a tunnel with more than 1,000 pairs of legs for their dogs to run through.
The cadets, under the watchful eye of WO2 Lynne Bannister, were only too happy to lend a helping leg in this final rehearsal of the record attempt.
The dogs will be back in action at the Northumberland County Show on 25th May.
Cdt Edward Inkster of Alnwick Detachment has won the coveted top cadet trophy in the recent Royal Regiment of Fusiliers cadet competition held at Ashington TA Centre.
Cdt Inkster, pictured above with his trophy and medal, managed to hold his own against more than 50 cadets from across the whole of Northumberland.
Detachment Commander, SSI Ralph Brown, said: "We're all very proud of Cdt Inkster's efforts. His performance reflects the high level of commitment he and the rest of the team put into the event."
As some of you will be aware the famous The George and Dragon newsletter is being relaunched shortly.
It was my intention to publish the first edition in early June, although this is looking increasingly less likely due to a lack of contributions.
I'm after short written pieces, photos and captions.
Please email me anything you have.

Belford Detachment have again proved their mettle by coming top in the recent Royal Regiment of Fusiliers cadet competition held at Ashington TA Centre.
The team took part in a series of activities including weapon handling, shooting, vehicle recognition and command tasks. They secured top spot after wiping aside the other 15 teams competing.
The winning team are pictured above (Cpl Ross Holman, Cpl Craig Holman, Cpl Guy Renner-Thompson and LCpl Kevin Joyce).
Three W Company cadets have swept to victory in the regional shooting competition.
Corporals Craig Holman, Guy Renner-Thompson and Ross Holman came second overall against stiff competition from fellow army cadets, air cadets and sea cadets from across the north of England. The lads, all from Belford Detachment, proudly display their medals in the photo above.
It was double success for Cpl Guy Renner-Thompson, who was also the best individual shot in the competition.
