Bellingham Enrolment 01/29/2011
Fifteen new cadets have been enroled at Northumbria ACF's newest Detachment in Bellingham. The cadets have spent the last 3 months working towards their Army Proficiency Certificate (APC) Basic Training qualification, under the watchful eye of Detachment Commander SMI Cy Dilger. Retired local senior Army officer, Colonel Richard Cross, kindly agreed to officiate at the ceremony. Cdt Bethany Charlton was awarded the Best Recruit prize, Cdt Jack Thompson was named as the Most Improved Recruit and Cdt Aaron Tuck won the prize for Best Turnout. The fifteen cadets are pictured above with their new Detachment staff, the OC W Company, Deputy Commandant of Northumbria ACF and Colonel Cross. We look forward to welcoming them to their first weekend camp at fully enrolled cadets in early February. Congratulations to all the Bellingham cadets and staff for their achievements since the Detachment opened. The Detachment meets on Monday nights at 7 pm, at the Drop in Centre behind Bellingham Police Station. A larger version of the Detachment photo is available to download from the link below:

Positive Response to Bellingham Meeting 07/15/2010
W Company hosted a public meeting in Bellingham last night, which takes us one step closer to a new Detachment in the town. The OC, CSM and SMI Dilger, DC Designate of Bellingham Detachment, made a short presentation about the ethos and organisation of the ACF before fielding questions about the new venture. SSI Matthewson, SI Hedley, Cdt CSM Sargent and Cdt LCpl Straker were on hand to demonstrate some aspects of ACF training to the fifty strong audience. We're pleased to report lots of positive feedback from the locals, with many youngsters expressing an interest in becoming army cadets as soon as the doors open. Stay tuned for futher updates on the realisation of Bellingham Detachment. | ArchivesJanuary 2012 CategoriesAll | ||||||||||||
