A suggested kit list is available to download  [...] ]]></description><content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="paragraph" style='text-align:justify;'>The Company will be taking part in its second weekend of the year at Otterburn on 25-27 May 2012. This weekend will focus on fieldcraft out at Cottonshope and Featherwood on the western edge of the training area.<br /><br /><span>Cadets should pack appropriately for at least one night out in the field. A <span style="text-decoration: underline;">suggested</span> kit list is available to download <a title="" target="_blank" href="http://www.wcompany.org.uk/uploads/2/2/8/1/2281825/w_coy_weekend_kit_list.pdf">here</a>. As usual, any cadet who is unsure should speak to their Detachment Commander well before turning up for the coach!</span> <br /><br /><span>Those cadets involved with the Regional Athletics on Sunday, 27th May will need to bring appropriate sports clothing for that. Some spending money would also be useful if they wish to purchase refreshments at the venue.</span><br /><br /><span>As more experienced members of the Company will tell you, Otterburn has some very strange weather patterns. </span>It could be very sunny, so pack some suncream. Likewise it cold be exceptionally cold and wet, so pack something warm and waterproof. Whatever the weather there's a very good chance the midgies will be out, so pack some insect repellent.<br /><br /><span>Transport timings on Friday, 25th May are:</span><br /><br /><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Coach 1:</span><br /><span>Berwick, 1820 hrs</span><br /><span>Belford, 1840 hrs</span><br /><span>Alnwick, 1900 hrs</span><br /><span>CTC Otterburn, 2000 hrs</span><br /><br /><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Coach 2:</span><br /><span>Broomhill, 1815 hrs</span><br /><span>Amble, 1830 hrs</span><br /><span>Rothbury, 1900 hrs</span><br /><span>CTC Otterburn, 1945 hrs</span><br /><br /><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Minibus:</span><br /><span>Bellingham, 1930 hrs</span><br /><span>CTC Otterburn, 2000 hrs</span><br /><br />Cadets should arrive at least 10 mins prior to the departure times given above. A list of attending cadets was sent to DCs last week, so if you're not sure please ask.<span></span><br /><br /><span>Dress for the day will be full combats, with extra additional warm clothing (e.g. gloves, waterproof jacket). This will include the traditional 48 hour field training exercise, canoeing, climbing, expeditions, shooting and a da [...] ]]></description><content:encoded><![CDATA[<div  class="paragraph editable-text" style=" text-align: justify; ">Annual Camp, the highlight of the cadet year, is rapidly approaching. This year we're in sunny Wathgill, perched on the edge of Catterick Training Area and the magnificent Yorkshire Dales National Park.<br /><br /><span>As usual there will be an exciting range of military and adventurous activities taking place. This will include the traditional 48 hour field training exercise, canoeing, climbing, expeditions, shooting and a day out at Lightwater Valley. The cadets will also complete a lot of training in their normal Army Prociency Certificate Syllabus.</span><br /><br /><span></span>Camp will begin on Sat, 4th August and the cadets will return home on Fri, 17th August. As with last year, it is expected that cadets will stop for the duration of camp. Any cadet wishing to attend for only one week for whatever reason will need to make special arrangements with their Detachment Commander.<br /><br /><span>As with last year the cost of Camp is likely to be around &pound;60 for the fortnight. A final figure will be confirmed closer to the time.</span><br /><br /><span>Annual Camp is open to any cadet who is fully enrolled by 1st May. They will also need to have attended at least one W Company weekend prior to attending Annual Camp.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Cadets wishing to attend Annual Camp will need to give their names to their Detachment Commander by 1st May.
