Cadets from Berwick Detachment have been recognised by the High Sheriff of Northumberland for their valuable service to the local community.

They attended a presentation evening at Northumbria Police Headquarters in Ponteland, where they were awarded a certificate of recognition by the outgoing High Sheriff, the Reverend Fiona Sample.

SI Debra Jerdan, who has recently been acting as Detachment Commander at Berwick, received a special award recognising her as an Inspirational Volunteer for her youth work in the town.

The Company congratulates everyone at Berwick Detachment for their continued hard work and dedication to the local community.

With the annual County military skills competition, Northumbrian Warrior, rapidly approaching the Company held training today at Alnwick.

Corporal Jordan Harnett, 16, of Amble Detachment has been presented with his Army Proficiency Certificate 4-Star by the Lord Lieutenant of Northumberland.

Jordan, who joined the ACF five years ago, recently completed the arduous week-long Senior Cadet Instructors Cadre under the watchful eye of the Regular Army NCOs of the 15 (NE) Brigade Cadet Training Team. He has also been an active participant in County shooting team, becoming one of the top shots in Northumbria ACF.

Only the top 10% of cadets go on to achieve the APC 4-Star qualification, which requires immense dedication and all round ability.

Jordan's 4-Star badge and certificate were presented by HM Lord Lieutenant, the Duchess of Northumberland, at the annual award ceremony at Ashington TA Centre last week.

The Company congratulates Jordan on his achievement and looks forward to him developing further as a senior cadet NCO.

Sergeant Eleanor Tribe, 18, of Alnwick Detachment has been appointed Lord Lieutenant's Cadet for Northumberland.

Ellie will spend the next year assisting HM Lord Lieutenant, the Duchess of Northumberland, at high profile events around the area. 

The accolade, which is the pinnacle of a cadet's career, is awarded to only one army cadet in the County each year. 

Ellie, who has been an army cadet for the last four years, was presented with her badge and certificate of appointment by the Lord Lieutenant at the annual awards ceremony last Tuesday evening.

During her time at Alnwick Detachment she has represented the Company and County in a wide range of sporting and military disciplines. Over the years she has been keen runner and shooter and has taken part in the Brigade Cadet Military Skills Competition, Colts Canter, on several occasions.
