The cadets of W Company have been out in force at Northumbria ACF's annual athletics championships, held at Monkton Stadium on 30th April.
Cadets achieved success in a wide range of track and field events.
The following cadets are congratulated on their medal winning performances in their category:
- Sgt Greg Hogarth, Berwick, 1st in shot putt, 2nd in discus.
- LCpl Joe Miller, Broomhill, 1st in 400 m, 2nd in 1500 m.
- LCpl Catherine Phillips, Broomhill, 1st in 100 m, 1st in long jump, 2nd in 1500 m.
- LCpl Brandon Mayes, Broomhill, 1st in shot putt, 1st in javelin.
- Cpl Mark Newson, Broomhill, 1st in javelin.
- Cdt Kye Simpson, Amble, 1st in 800 m.
- Cdt Caitlin Craik, Amble, 1st in 800 m, 1st in shot putt, 2nd in long jump, 1st in 4 x 100 m.
- Cdt Kyle Mundoon, Belford, 1st in high jump.
- Cdt Kirstyn Crate, Alnwick, 1st in discus, 2nd in javelin.
- Cdt Robyn Beveridge, Alnwick, 2nd in shot putt.
- Cdt Jack Southward, Amble, 1st in 200 m.
- Cpl Megan Straker, Alnwick, 1st in 100 m, 1st in shot putt, 1st in discus.
- Cdt Rivva Armstrong, Bellingham, 2nd in 100 m, 2nd in 200 m, 1st in 4 x 100 m.
- Cdt Natasha Reid, Bellingham, 1st in 4 x 100 m.
- Cdt Bethany Charlton, Bellingham, 1st in long jump, 2nd in 1500 m, 1st in 4 x 100 m.
- Cdt Aiden Bell, Bellingham, 1st in 400 m.
- Cdt Matthew Charlton, Bellingham, 2nd in long jump.
All the other cadets taking part gave it their best shot, but didn't quite make it into medal positions. Many of those listed above will be attending the Regional Athletics at Middlesbrough in a few weeks time.
