A message from the Detachment Commander

As Detachment Commander I am responsible for the training, administration and welfare of everyone in the Detachment.

I joined Northumbria ACF as a recruit at Broomhill Detachment in 1994. I achieved the rank of cadet CSM in 1999 and was appointed Lord Lieutenant's Cadet for Northumberland in April 2000.

Having been a cadet myself I understand the importance of delivering a varied and challenging programme of training.

It is rewarding to watch recruits come through the door at 12-years old and develop into senior cadets, who can confidently share their own skills and experience with their junior peers.

I was appointed Detachment Commander of Alnwick Detachment in September 2010, having previously been a Detachment Instructor in Alnwick, Amble and Broomhill Detachments.

I am also W Company's First Aid Training Advisor.
