Belford Detachment - Badged to Royal Regiment of Fusaliers

A message from the Detachment Commander

SSI J. Grey

Hello. My name is SSI Grey and I am the Detachment Commander of Belford Detachment. Unlike most other W Company adults I was never a cadet as a youngster. Instead, at the age of 18, I decided to join the Royal Navy where I served for 4 years on the surface fleet (Type 23 Frigates and Type 42 Destroyers).

After leaving the Navy I wanted to help promote the Armed Forces in the local area so I decided to become an adult with the ACF. After a few years I was given the chance to run my own Detachment and have never looked back.

Belford may look small on a map but what we lack in numbers we make up for in cadet achievement and enjoyment. We won Best Detachment in Northumbria in 2009 and have had the best shots in the County for 4 years running.

If you live in the area and want to join the best Detachment in Northumbria ACF feel free to pop in any Tuesday or Thursday evening.
